TONY CLENNELL & ANDREW KELLNER
Five Day Pottery Workshop

Workshop Dates: June 22-26, 2026 with welcome dinner on June 21st.
Time: Five days, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Class Size: Limited to 8 students

This five-day workshop brings together Tony Clennell and Andrew Kellner, whose practices are rooted in process and material intelligence.

Tony and Andrew have been in active dialogue about clay ever since Tony first taught Andrew at Sheridan College School of Craft & Design. Over time, their relationship has evolved into a strong friendship grounded in mutual admiration and respect for each other’s work. Both share a rare directness with the material marked by a distinctive edge. Between them, they bring over seventy-five years of experience as makers, educators, and working artists.

This intensive course will focus on slowing down at the wheel, working with softer material, and making with a heightened awareness and celebration of process. You will explore the cup, jug, jar, bowl, plate, and teapot forms, including approaches to using slips and glazes. Each day will include demonstrations, time for making, and end-of-day group critiques aimed at helping participants understand and develop their own voice.

This workshop is for intermediate to advanced makers who want to engage more seriously with their work and learn how to stand behind decisions with confidence. Participants should come prepared to step outside any assumptions and question what they know. This course is about making pots that carry presence, intention, and identity.
