Discover the joy of working with clay on the potter’s wheel.

This one-day, hands-on class is designed as a tasting for absolute beginners. You’ll learn the basics of throwing on the wheel, including wedging, centering, pulling, and shaping clay.

We'll guide you step-by-step as you create simple forms like cups or bowls in a relaxed and supportive studio setting. No experience or tools needed — just bring your curiosity and a willingness to get a little muddy!

Limited to 8 students.

Includes:

  • A one-hour catered lunch 

  • All materials and firing are included

  • Finished pieces will be available for pick-up after two weeks 

Cost: $140 CAD plus GST

ABOUT TONY CLENNELL
Artist in Residence

A second-generation potter and long-time educator, Tony has taught workshops across Canada, the U.S., Japan, China, Korea, Wales, Portugal, Italy, and Mexico.

He holds an MFA from Utah State University and is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. His work has been exhibited in museums throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, and his writing has appeared in leading ceramic journals worldwide.

Tony is the author of Stuck in the Mud and has kept a lively studio blog, smokieclennell.blogspot.com, since 2007.
